Koperasi Nelayan Merah Putih begins 8-ton fish export

The Koperasi Nelayan Merah Putih, located in Sorue Jaya, Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, has completed its first shipment of 8 tons of export-quality fish to other cities. This milestone follows the commencement of a priority work program in August 2026.

Lotharia Latif, Director General of Capture Fisheries at the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, stated that the cooperative is functioning as an economic ecosystem that connects fisherman production with market access. The program aims to increase productivity, value-added products, and the welfare of local fishermen by providing fisheries facilities and improving financial literacy and market access.
