Kopernikusschule Freigericht receives health and prevention awards

The Kopernikusschule in Freigericht has received new certifications through the Hessian ‘Schule & Gesundheit’ (School & Health) program. The school was awarded a second renewal of its partial certificate for ‘Addiction and Violence Prevention’ and received a new certification in the area of ‘Movement and Perception.’

The certificates were presented at the State School Office, recognizing the institution's commitment to a health-conscious and preventative school culture. The ‘Movement and Perception’ certification highlights efforts to integrate physical activity beyond standard sports lessons, including movement units within regular instruction, expanded activity options during breaks, and teacher training in relaxation exercises to improve student concentration and well-being.

In the field of addiction and violence prevention, the school continues its work with students starting from the fifth grade. Programs include social competence training, training for student mediators, anti-bullying measures, and protection concepts designed to prevent violence and sexual violence.
