Koprivnica hosts 19th International Folklore Festival “Iz bakine škrinje”
The 19th International Folklore Festival “Iz bakine škrinje” concluded after three days of performances in Koprivnica and Sveti Ivan Žabno, Croatia. Folk ensembles from Mexico, Chile, Slovakia, Slovenia and several Croatian groups showcased traditional songs, dances and colorful costumes.
City officials, including Mayor Mišel Jakšić and Koprivnica‑Križevačka County head Tomislav Golubić, praised the event for promoting cultural heritage and fostering international friendship. The festival attracted numerous visitors and highlighted the region’s role as a hub for preserving and celebrating world folk traditions.
