Koprivnica-Križevci County announces infrastructure and firefighting investments
Koprivnica-Križevci County officials have outlined significant investments in regional safety and infrastructure. County Prefect Tomislav Golubić met with national firefighting commander Slavko Tucaković to discuss fire prevention and equipment upgrades. The county has allocated 280,000 euros for firefighting improvements this year, an increase of 58,000 euros over last year, alongside 66,000 euros specifically for equipment in Koprivnica, Križevci, and Đurđevac. Two new specialized forest fire vehicles are expected to arrive by the end of the year.
In a separate meeting with Croatian Roads (Hrvatske ceste) President Ivica Budimir, officials discussed nearly 20 million euros worth of planned roadworks for the region. Key projects include the completion of the fast road to Klošter Vojakovački, the continuation of the section toward Koprivnica, and the development of the Podravina fast road to improve connectivity with Slavonia. Other planned works involve constructing roundabouts in Koprivnica, Đurđevac, and Virje, reconstructing the Repaš bridge, and improving the roadway in Sveti Ivan Žabno.
