Koprivnica's Renesansni Festival Returns Aug 20‑23 with Medieval Shows and Concerts
Koprivnica, Croatia, will host the Renesansni Festival again from 20 to 23 August. More than 1,300 costumed participants from 13 European countries will recreate late‑medieval life with knightly tournaments, sword‑play, horse performances, craft demonstrations, alchemy displays, falconry, medieval theatre and interactive workshops on calligraphy, pottery and archery. The program also includes a night‑time “attack on the city” featuring fireworks, cannons and sword fights, plus a sustainable gastronomy offering historic dishes served only in paper, wood or ceramic vessels.
The festival coincides with the concluding edition of the Ljeto na Zrinskom programme, turning the city park into a “Bistro in the park” venue with wine, beer, DJ sets and two headline concerts: Sergej Ćetković on Friday, 21 August, and Prljavo Kazalište on Saturday, 22 August. The Renesansni Festival, an eight‑year winner of the Croatian Tourist Board’s Simply the Best award, remains one of the country’s most recognised cultural‑tourist events.
