Koprzywnica hosts Christian Culture Week

The St. Florian Parish in Koprzywnica hosted Christian Culture Week from October 11 to 17. This initiative was part of the broader Christian Culture Week celebrations within the Sandomierz Diocese, designed to provide local access to religious and cultural reflections for those unable to travel to other regional events.

Each evening featured reflections presented by local youth followed by Rosary prayers. The program covered various themes, including the authority of figures like St. John Paul II, the 800-year history of the Cistercian Abbey in Koprzywnica, and the role of music in prayer, featuring saxophone performances of Marian melodies. Other sessions addressed the contribution of Christianity to science and education, as well as monastic traditions and the spirituality of St. Teresa of Avila.

A significant event occurred on Friday, October 16, marking the 48th anniversary of Cardinal Karol Wojtyła’s election as Pope. During the ‘Rosary of Light’ held at the St. John Paul II statue, children lit candles representing rosary beads while reflecting on the late Pope’s teachings.
