Korçë educator arrested following allegations of child abuse

An educator in Korçë, Albania, has been arrested following allegations of physical abuse against a 4-year-old child at Kindergarten No. 6.

The child's mother, Vollsjana Plasa, reported that her son had expressed fear of the teacher, identified as Xheni, several days prior to the arrest. Plasa claimed that when she initially raised concerns with the kindergarten staff, they dismissed the child's complaints, suggesting he was lying.

According to the mother, the situation escalated when she witnessed the educator gripping the child's hand forcefully and shouting at him. Plasa also alleged that during a confrontation at the facility, the educator acted aggressively toward her and threw her mobile phone. The incident has led to calls from the parent for increased institutional oversight and security checks within kindergartens to ensure child safety.
