Korail begins Chuseok holiday train ticket reservations

Korail has announced the schedule for Chuseok holiday train ticket reservations, which will cover travel from September 23 to 27. This marks the first holiday reservation period following the integration of Korail and SR.

To participate, passengers must be registered as 'integrated members.' While existing Korail members are automatically transitioned, SR-only members must manually complete the conversion via the Korail+ mobile app or the official website.

Reservations for the transportation vulnerable—including seniors aged 65 and older, registered persons with disabilities, national merit recipients, and pregnant women—will take place on September 3 and 4 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. General public reservations will run from September 7 to 11, between 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM, with specific dates assigned to different train lines and routes.

To ensure system stability, Korail has significantly expanded its infrastructure, increasing web servers from 11 to 60 and boosting internet bandwidth from 6Gbps to 40Gbps. The company also reported conducting 232 mock tests since June to prepare for the high volume of concurrent users.
