Korail denies claims of improper KTX discounts by YouTuber Park We

Claims circulating online that YouTuber Park We received a 70% discount on KTX train fares due to a Grade 1 disability status have been refuted by Korail. The railway operator stated that a 70% discount system does not exist within their current or past regulations.

Under current South Korean regulations, individuals with severe disabilities receive a 50% discount, while those with less severe disabilities receive a 30% discount on weekdays. Even under the previous disability grading system, the maximum discount for Grades 1 through 3 was 50%.

The controversy follows Park We's decision to release CCTV footage of a minor accident involving a social service agent while he was disembarking a train. While the footage showed a mishap during the assistance process, Park We later apologized for potentially identifying the staff member involved. The situation has since led to various unverified allegations regarding his disability status and past history circulating on online communities.
