Koralmbahn railway connects Graz and Klagenfurt in southern Austria
The Koralmbahn railway has commenced regular passenger operations, significantly reducing travel times between the Austrian provincial capitals of Graz and Klagenfurt. Operated by Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), the new connection features the 33-kilometre Koralm Tunnel and is part of the country’s wider Southern Line.
Fastest Railjet Xpress services now cover the journey between the two cities in approximately 41 minutes. The development is intended to facilitate easier multi-destination travel across southern Austria, linking the cultural and culinary hub of Graz with the lake regions surrounding Klagenfurt.
