Koraput Engineer Satyanarayan Sethy Exposed with 49 Plots and 14‑Acre Farmhouses in Vigilance Raid
Vigilance officials in Odisha uncovered extensive undisclosed wealth belonging to Assistant Executive Engineer Satyanarayan Sethy of the Koraput district. Searches of seven properties in Koraput, Khurda and Kendrapara yielded two farmhouses covering about 14 acres, 49 high‑value land plots (including 17 benami holdings), two flats worth over ₹1 crore, cash of ₹5.48 lakh, bank deposits of roughly ₹61 lakh, gold weighing 940 grams and silver weighing 2.5 kg, as well as a Tata Harrier SUV and a two‑wheeler registered in the names of relatives.
In a separate but related action, a Junior Engineer of the Works and Housing Department was arrested in Jagatsinghpur after being caught accepting a ₹15,000 bribe from a contractor seeking clearance for a street‑light bill. Both incidents are part of a broader anti‑corruption drive targeting illegal asset accumulation and bribery within state government departments.
