Korea Airports Corporation holds airport innovation award ceremony

Korea Airports Corporation (KAC) held an award ceremony for its Airport Network Innovation Idea Contest. The competition, which targeted university students and airport employees, received 111 submissions focused on network/service innovation and Artificial Intelligence (AI) innovation.

The top prize, the Grand Prize, was awarded to the ‘AIR-LOG CONNECT’ project, which proposes integrating AI into the ‘Smart Airport’ application to create personalized travel magazines and provide local currency incentives and festival discounts. Other winning ideas included a package service combining baseball travel with flights, an AI platform for predicting tourism demand, and a system to assign alternative transportation for passengers facing flight delays.

KAC plans to review the feasibility of these ideas for implementation in airport services and new business development.
