Korea-Czech Advanced Robot Industry Cooperation Center opens in Prague
The Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement (KIRIA) has opened the Korea-Czech Advanced Robot Industry Cooperation Center (KCARC) at the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics (CIIRC), located within the Czech University of Technology in Prague. The center is designed to serve as a strategic hub to support South Korean robotics companies in entering and expanding within the European market.
Operating through March 2030, the center will facilitate joint research and development, robot training, and technical verification. Key projects include the development of AI-based remote control and digital twin technologies, as well as collaborative research on industrial mobile humanoid robots. Participating entities include various South Korean research institutes and companies such as Rainbow Robotics, Bigwave Robotics, and the Korea Institute of Robot and Convergence (KIRO), working alongside Czech partners.
KIRIA is also engaging with South Korean companies already established in the Czech Republic, such as Hyundai Motor, Nexen Tire, and Doosan Robotics, to identify local demands for manufacturing automation and technical verification. This feedback will be used to refine support programs aimed at creating a comprehensive value chain from technology matching to European market expansion.
