Korea expands AI student loan program to 60 universities

The Korea Student Aid Foundation has expanded its ‘AI Academic Encouragement Student Loan’ program, increasing the number of eligible universities to 60. This expansion includes the addition of three AI hub universities: Pusan National University, Chonnam National University, and Chungnam National University.

Under this program, students studying in AI and software-related fields can borrow up to 2 million KRW annually, separate from existing tuition and living expense loans. For the newly added hub universities, the support is not limited to specific majors but extends to all undergraduate students to reflect the integration of AI-convergence curricula across the institutions. The funds are intended to cover costs such as tuition, books, and educational materials.
