Korea-France Friendship and Peace Concert to be held at UNESCO
The 18th Korea-France Friendship and Peace Concert is scheduled to take place on October 23 at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris. Organized by the French non-profit cultural organization Échos de la Corée, the event celebrates the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between South Korea and France.
Under the theme ‘Ensemble vers la Lumière’ (Together Towards the Light), the performance aims to promote harmony and peace through art. The program features a diverse lineup, including popera tenor Lim Hyung-joo and collaborations between the Korean Lux-Bit Art Company and the French jazz group Open’ INJAZZ from the National Institute for Blind Youth (INJA) to highlight inclusivity through performers with visual impairments.
Mia Lee, president of Échos de la Corée, noted that the organization has maintained a policy of offering all seats free of charge for 18 years to ensure that economic barriers do not prevent people from experiencing high-quality arts. The event is expected to draw diplomats from over 30 countries.
