Korea Heritage Service announces field trip program in Andong and Yecheon

The Korea Heritage Service is recruiting participants for its ‘2026 Scenic Spot and Traditional Landscaping Field Trip Program,’ scheduled to take place from October 26 to 31 in the Andong and Yecheon regions of Gyeongsangbuk-do.

The program consists of three separate tours departing from Busan, Daejeon, and Seoul to improve regional accessibility. Participants will visit five major national heritage sites along the Nakdong River: Hoeryongpo in Yecheon, and Hahoe Village, Manhyujeong, Dosan Seowon, and Gosanjeong in Andong. The itinerary includes expert commentary, traditional cultural experiences such as Hahoe Byeolsingut Talnori performances, and a visit to Manhyujeong to observe its recovery following last year’s large-scale forest fire.

General applicants can apply via the Korea Heritage Service website from September 28 to October 13, with final participants selected by lottery. The program also includes an invitation for 20 individuals from culturally vulnerable groups. While the basic participation fee is free, attendees are responsible for their own meals and accommodation costs.
