Korea Heritage Service expands national heritage visit routes to 100 sites

The Korea Heritage Service and the Korea Heritage Agency are expanding the ‘National Heritage Visit Campaign’ by adding three new themed routes and 24 additional sites. This expansion increases the total number of heritage routes from 10 to 13 and the number of designated sites from 76 to 100.

The new routes include the ‘Modern Heritage Road,’ which connects historical sites in Incheon, Taebaek, Gunsan, and Mokpo; the ‘Korean Peninsula Dinosaur Road,’ focusing on fossil sites in Yeosu, Haenam, and Jinju; and the ‘Natural Cave Road,’ which links various geological sites such as those in Samcheok, Yeongwol, Danyang, and Uljin.

To support the campaign, a new ‘Visitor Passport 2’ will be released in September. Participants can collect stamps at the new sites to earn badges and medals. The application process has been streamlined to allow families to apply for multiple passports at once, and new pickup locations have been established, including a promotion center near the National Palace Museum of Korea to improve accessibility for both domestic and international tourists.
