Korea Investment Securities and Korea Zinc report record first‑half earnings
Korea Investment Securities announced that its first‑half operating profit reached 2.17 trillion won, an increase of 89.1% from the same period last year, while net profit rose 68.9% to 1.73 trillion won. The firm highlighted growth across its brokerage, asset‑management and corporate‑finance divisions, noting a 44.2% rise in brokerage fees and a 106.8% increase in asset‑management fee income. It also expanded AI‑based investment information on its mobile trading platform and broadened partnerships with firms such as Coinone, Investing.com and Naver Pay.
Korea Zinc reported its strongest half‑year performance on record, with sales of 12.445 trillion won and operating profit of 1.333 trillion won, up 62.5% and 151.1% year‑on‑year respectively. In the second quarter alone, sales hit 6.373 trillion won and operating profit 587.1 billion won, marking 66.7% and 126.8% growth. The results lifted the company’s share price by about 13% and prompted a dividend of 5,000 won per share for Q2, bringing the cumulative half‑year dividend to 10,000 won per share.
