Korea Para Sports organizations expand exchange and host National Games

The Korea Para Sports Promotion Association and the Korean Para Sports Association in USA have signed a memorandum of understanding to expand exchange and cooperation in the field of para sports. The agreement aims to share information and best practices, activate athlete exchanges, and build networks between relevant organizations. A key focus will be connecting Korean para athletes residing in the United States with domestic sports sectors to broaden their activity bases.

Separately, the 46th National Para Games have commenced in Jeju, South Korea. The event features 5,677 athletes from 17 cities and provinces competing across 31 disciplines at 36 different venues. This year marks the introduction of a new scoring system designed to distinguish between elite sports and grassroots sports. To encourage diversity, the competition includes bonus points for the participation of rookie, female, and severely disabled athletes.
