Korea Tourism Organization hosts sensory sound journey at Changgyeonggung Palace

The Korea Tourism Organization and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism hosted the ‘Korea Sound Journey’ event at Changgyeonggung Palace and the Hwigyeomjae hanok in Seoul. The initiative aimed to expand the tourism experience from purely visual sightseeing to an auditory and sensory exploration of South Korea.

Approximately 100 foreign tourists and global influencers from over 20 countries, including China, Japan, the United States, and Thailand, participated in the event. These attendees were selected from roughly 2,300 applicants through a quiz event on the ‘Visit Korea’ YouTube channel.

The program consisted of two main parts: ‘Sound Walking,’ where participants recorded various sounds of the palace grounds with professional sound walkers, and ‘Sound Talk & Share,’ a session held at a traditional hanok. Actor Park Bo-gum, serving as the honorary tourism ambassador for Korea, joined the participants for quizzes and discussions regarding the promotional video ‘Begin to Hear Korea.’
