Korea University Anam Hospital opens pediatric emergency room

Korea University Anam Hospital has opened a specialized pediatric emergency room within its Regional Emergency Medical Center to enhance medical capabilities for young patients. The facility held an opening ceremony on the 9th to mark the expansion of its pediatric emergency care system.

To improve specialized care and stability, the hospital has recruited three dedicated pediatric emergency specialists and established four exclusive beds for pediatric patients. The new system is designed to allow specialists to assess the initial condition and severity of pediatric patients, ensuring rapid connection to pediatric departments if further specialized treatment is required.

Because pediatric patients often present different symptoms and require different treatment processes than adults, the hospital aims to provide more meticulous care through this organized infrastructure. This expansion reinforces the hospital's role as a final treatment institution for severe and emergency medical cases in the region.
