Japan Airlines and Korean Air sign strategic partnership
Japan Airlines (JAL) and Korean Air have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a strategic partnership, aiming to deepen cooperation in passenger services, loyalty programs, and sustainability.
The agreement builds on a relationship between the two carriers dating back to the early 1960s. A key component of this partnership is the planned expansion of existing codeshare and frequent flyer arrangements to include the routes of Asiana Airlines following its integration with Korean Air, which is scheduled for completion on December 17, 2026.
By aligning their networks, the airlines intend to enhance connectivity and travel options across Asia and global markets, facilitating increased movement of people and goods between Japan and South Korea.
