Boeing secures major aircraft orders from Korean Air and Turkish Airlines

Korean Air has finalized a massive $44.8 billion agreement to acquire 103 Boeing aircraft and related engine services. The deal includes 20 777-9s, 25 787-10s, 50 737-10s, and eight 777-8 Freighters, alongside an $8.6 billion package for spare engines and maintenance from GE Aerospace and CFM International. The investment aims to modernize the fleet following the integration of Asiana Airlines.

Simultaneously, Turkish Airlines is nearing a deal for up to 150 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, including 100 firm orders and 50 options. The negotiations, which had been stalled for nearly a year, centered on engine maintenance terms with CFM International. Turkish Airlines had previously considered switching to Airbus if terms regarding the LEAP-1B engines were not met. An official signing could occur as early as next week.
