Korean Air to launch new Seoul-Melbourne non-stop service

Korean Air is launching a new seasonal non-stop service between Seoul Incheon and Melbourne, marking its return to the Melbourne market for the first time since 2013. The service will operate three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays from December 18, 2026, through March 14, 2027.

The new route will be operated using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. This service follows the merger between Korean Air and Asiana Airlines, which is expected to formally complete on December 17, 2026. Korean Air will take over the Melbourne-Seoul slot currently held by Asiana Airlines.

The seasonal schedule is designed to cater to peak travel periods between Australia and South Korea, complementing Korean Air’s existing year-round operations to Sydney and Brisbane. The flights aim to support cultural, business, and leisure exchanges, providing direct connectivity for Victorian exporters and the local Korean community.
