Korean cuisine expands globally through the K-Wave

The global popularity of Korean culture, often referred to as the K-Wave, is driving a rise in Korean dining establishments in various regions, including Australia and the United States.

In Canberra, Sikdang, located in Bailey’s Arcade, offers a variety of Korean dishes such as bibimbap, kimchi stew, tteokbokki, and kimchi pancakes. The restaurant provides both single-portion meals and larger dishes intended for sharing.

In Little Rock, Arkansas, a new fast-casual restaurant called The Bap has opened, catering to a young and diverse crowd interested in Korean pop culture. The establishment features Korean comfort and street foods alongside Asian specialty drinks and various K-pop themed merchandise.
