Korean Film Festival returns to Budapest with 24 films

The 19th Korean Film Festival will take place at Budapest’s Corvin Cinema from September 25 to October 2. Organized by the Korean Cultural Center, the event features 24 films across four sections: Fresh, Faces, Focus, and Extra.

The festival opens with the historical drama ‘The King’s Warden’ by Chang Hang-jun, set in 15th-century Joseon. The program spans various genres, including the supernatural action film ‘Holy Night: Demon Hunters’ and the zombie comedy ‘My Daughter, the Zombie’, which serves as the closing film.

A notable entry is the documentary ‘3 Gen. Journey’, which follows three generations traveling by electric car from Gwangju to Budapest over 80 days. Additionally, the festival includes three audience meet-and-greet sessions with Korean directors Song Jin-uk, Jang Kun-ja, and Lee Seong-jun. Discussions will be held in both Hungarian and Korean.
