Korean film festivals scheduled for October in Brussels and Singapore
South Korean cinema will be highlighted through major film festivals in Brussels and Singapore this October.
The 14th edition of Korean Film Week in Brussels runs from 1 to 4 October at Cinéma Palace and Cinéma Galeries. Organized by the Korean Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Belgium and the European Union, the program features five Belgian premieres. The selection includes the historical drama ‘The King’s Warden’, the romance ‘Once We Were Us’, the youth comedy ‘Victory’, the horror film ‘Salmokji: Whispering Water’, and the mystery thriller ‘Confession’.
In Singapore, the Korean Film Festival returns from 8 to 18 October, marking two decades of Korean storytelling in the country. The festival, themed ‘Stories Unseen’, will host 14 public screenings at Golden Village Suntec City and Scape. The lineup focuses on diverse narratives involving elderly citizens, North Korean defectors, and LGBTQ+ communities. Featured titles include the 2001 film ‘Take Care of My Cat’, the award-winning animation ‘The Square’, and a 4K restoration of the zombie thriller ‘Train to Busan’ for its 10th anniversary.
