Korean Industrial Complex Corp rolls out employee‑built AI tools after internal competition

South Korea’s Korean Industrial Complex Corporation (KIC) announced the results of its AI workflow improvement contest, selecting five projects for immediate deployment. The competition attracted 50 staff members who proposed 19 AI‑driven solutions to streamline repetitive administrative tasks.

The winning projects include an AI‑powered internal‑rule assistant, a platform for handling industrial‑park resident requests, accounting automation, and an automated handover‑document system. KIC plans to pilot two to three of these tools right away through its dedicated AI unit, with the remainder phased in after further testing.

KIC’s director Lee Sang‑hoon said the contest demonstrates how employees can use AI to improve their own work processes and that the selected tools will help shift staff focus from routine tasks to higher‑value activities, enhancing public‑service efficiency.
