Korean physicists demonstrate temporal qubit evolution

A team of physicists from Korea University has demonstrated the existence of a temporal qubit, a quantum system capable of evolving in two opposite temporal directions simultaneously. This breakthrough builds upon a concept proposed in November 2025 by physicist Yakov Bloch of Tel Aviv University.

Unlike classical physics, where the arrow of time moves strictly from past to future, this quantum mechanism functions similarly to a clock with hands moving both clockwise and counter-clockwise at once. Researchers can manipulate the direction in which a process unfolds, offering potential advancements in high-performance computing and information processing.
