Korean Red Cross awards scholarships to 11 para-sports youth athletes

The Korean Red Cross and the Korea Paralympic Committee held a ceremony to award scholarships to 11 promising para-sports youth athletes. A total of 55 million won was distributed, with each selected athlete receiving 5 million won.

The scholarship recipients, aged 9 to 24, represent various disciplines including swimming, badminton, athletics, goalball, taekwondo, and snowboarding. The group includes one national representative, six rookie athletes, and four rising talents. The funding was provided through donations from Creas Studio—utilizing proceeds from entertainment program text voting—and the Yonsei University Student Council.

This initiative, part of the ‘Red Wing Rising’ talent support project, aims to provide financial stability for young athletes facing economic or environmental constraints, allowing them to continue their training and pursue their athletic goals.
