Korean remake of “The Intern” slated for September 2026 release

South Korea’s film industry will release a local remake of the 2015 Hollywood comedy “The Intern.” The movie, produced by Warner Bros. Korea, stars veteran actor Choi Min‑sik as senior intern Kim Gi‑Ho and popular actress Han So‑hee as young fashion‑startup CEO Seon Woo. A trailer and poster were unveiled alongside the announcement that the film will open in South Korean cinemas on 16 September 2026.

The story follows the 70‑year‑old Kim Gi‑Ho, who returns to work as a “silver intern” at a fast‑growing fashion startup, navigating the generational gap with the ambitious, work‑obsessed CEO. Themes include ageism in the workplace and inter‑generational mentorship.
