Hankook supplies exclusive OE tire for Porsche 911 Carrera

Hankook (Korea Tire & Technology) has been selected as the original equipment (OE) tire supplier for Porsche AG's 911 Carrera sports car. The company developed a dedicated high‑performance tire, the Ventus S1 Evo Z, marked with Porsche’s NA2 certification. The tyre set consists of 235/40 ZR19 front and 295/35 ZR20 rear sizes, engineered to balance dry handling, lane‑change stability and wet‑road grip for the rear‑engine, rear‑wheel‑drive layout.

Development spanned several years and involved extensive testing on European proving grounds: lane‑change and handling trials at Papenburg (Germany) and Idiada (Spain), high‑speed dry performance at Nardo (Italy), and wet‑road assessments at Pferdsfeld (Germany). The new compound uses special resins, high‑loading silica and an innovative mixing process to deliver precise steering response and consistent grip in all conditions. The partnership builds on roughly a decade of collaboration between Hankook and Porsche, expanding Hankook’s presence in the high‑performance segment.
