KOREATECH hosts technical education conference in Egypt
The Institute of Technology Transfer for Developing Countries (TTI) at Korea University of Technology and Education (KOREATECH) held a ‘Technical Education Conference’ at Beni Suef Technical University in Egypt on October 26. The event was organized in collaboration with local institutions, including Beni Suef Technical University (BTU), the Productivity and Vocational Training Department (PVTD), and Helwan International Technical University (HITU).
The conference aimed to share the outcomes of three international cooperation projects conducted by KOREATECH in partnership with the Ministry of Education and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). Experts from both nations discussed topics such as Egypt’s scientific and technological innovation, the transition of vocational training centers into applied technology schools, and cooperation in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to foster future talent.
KOICA Egypt Office Director Park Soo-young described the integrated Official Development Assistance (ODA) projects as a model for next-generation win-win cooperation. Jean Henri Thomas, President of BTU, noted that KOICA’s support and KOREATECH’s expertise have been driving forces for the development of higher technical education in Egypt.
