Soldiers from Korem 045/Garuda Jaya successfully extinguished a forest and land fire covering five hectares in Belilik Village, Central Bangka Regency, on Saturday, August 29, 2026.

Personnel from the Yonif 147/Ksatria Garuda Jaya responded to community reports of fire in shrubland that threatened to spread to residential areas and palm oil plantations. A fire truck unit was deployed to manage the blaze. Brigadier General TNI Nur Wahyudi stated that rapid response and field cooperation prevented the fire from reaching settlements or plantations.

Authorities are increasing patrols and community socialization to prevent further fires during the dry season. Officials have urged the public to avoid clearing land through burning and to immediately report any fire spots to the TNI, police, or disaster management agencies.
