Korgan district sees two deaths in two days following family feud

A series of violent incidents in the Korgan district of Ordu, Turkey, has resulted in two deaths within a two-day period following a family feud.

The violence began on October 6, when 40-year-old Orhan Artça was fatally stabbed during a dispute. Following this death, 62-year-old Nezaket Artça, the mother of the deceased, went to the home of the family involved in the dispute. During the confrontation, Nezaket Artça allegedly attacked a relative, 72-year-old Emine A., with a shovel, wounding her in the head.

In response to the attack, Hacer E. (52) used a licensed handgun to shoot and kill Nezaket Artça at the scene. Local authorities detained Hacer E., who was subsequently arrested and sent to Ünye prison. The injured Emine A. was transferred to Fatsa State Hospital for treatment. The community held a funeral service for Nezaket Artça following Friday prayers.
