Korlantas Polri launches automated SIM kiosks and digital security measures
Korlantas Polri has introduced the ‘Kios SIM’, an automated kiosk designed to allow citizens to print driver's licenses (SIM A and SIM C) independently, similar to using an ATM. Users can access the service via the Sinar Digital Korlantas application and visit a kiosk with a QR code to verify data and complete the printing process. This initiative aims to increase flexibility, improve efficiency, and reduce queues at registration offices. Plans are underway to expand these kiosks to the Jabodetabek area and various public service malls.
To support this digital transformation, Korlantas Polri is collaborating with the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (KemenPAN-RB) and the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN). This tripartite partnership focuses on strengthening the validation of digital driving documents, such as digital SIM and STNK, to prevent forgery and protect personal data. The system will adopt a ‘verifiable credential’ scheme, enabling automatic verification of official digital documents to ensure they are authentic and issued by official government institutions.
