Korlantas Polri launches digital vehicle registration documents
Korlantas Polri has officially launched the STNK Digital service, allowing motorists to access vehicle registration documents electronically via the Digital Korlantas application. Introduced during the 71st Bhayangkara Traffic Day in South Jakarta, the digital document serves as an electronic mirroring of the current physical STNK.
Irjen Pol Wibowo, Head of Korlantas Polri, stated that the digital version holds the same legal weight as the physical document. This service is intended to assist drivers who may have forgotten their physical documents, as they can present the digital version to officers for verification. The initiative aims to provide faster, safer, and more integrated traffic services while reducing the risk of physical documents being lost or damaged.
The launch is part of a broader digital transformation involving four new innovations, including a traffic fine payment system, Kios SIM for independent driver's license printing, and the Siap Jalan application for vehicle readiness assessments. Users are advised that while the STNK Digital is a legal representation of the document, it is distinct from the online tax payment extension services provided through the SIGNAL application.
