Kory Clark announces BC NDP candidacy for Kamloops-North Thompson
Kory Clark, a community support worker with United Steelworkers, has announced his candidacy for the BC NDP in the Kamloops-North Thompson riding. Clark, who has worked in healthcare for seven years, cited the cost-of-living crisis and the need for expanded rural healthcare services as primary drivers for his campaign.
As part of the NDP platform, Clark highlighted plans to reduce gas prices by up to 30 cents per litre through corporate price gouging crackdowns and fuel tax suspensions. He also detailed healthcare initiatives, including a goal to triple the recruitment of healthcare workers from the United States, opening 1,000 new training seats, and providing expanded loan forgiveness for those working in remote areas. The party also aims to deliver 20 new primary care clinics, eight new MRI machines, and 10 new CT scanners.
