Ákos Hadházy criticizes Miklós Zelcsényi over state event contracts

Former Member of Parliament Ákos Hadházy has criticized Miklós Zelcsényi, a former Tisza Party member and current program coordinator for Péter Magyar, regarding state-funded event contracts. The controversy stems from Zelcsényi’s social media posts boasting that his company served as a subcontractor for food services during a state-organized athletics world championship.

Hadházy alleges that the procurement processes for major sporting events, including the World Athletics Ultimate Championship and the IJF Judo Grand Slam, were conducted through “sham public procurement” without genuine competition. While Hadházy noted that invited bidding might be acceptable due to tight deadlines, he questioned the selection of companies, specifically pointing to a firm with no employees or significant revenue.

Péter Magyar responded to the allegations by stating that Zelcsényi no longer belongs to their political community and that his companies were not involved in the August 20th events. Zelcsényi has since engaged in a verbal dispute with Magyar, maintaining his political sympathies.
