Ákos to release new Christmas album following health recovery
Hungarian singer Ákos is set to release a new Christmas-themed album titled ‘KARÁCSONY – Az ünnep dalai’ on September 29. The release marks a significant return for the 58-year-old artist, who canceled his summer concerts following a diagnosis of malignant thyroid cancer.
The album features 15 tracks, including ten previously performed songs and two new compositions, ‘Születésnap’ and ‘Hidd el’. The collection also includes traditional carols and liturgical pieces, such as a Hungarian version of ‘O Holy Night’ titled ‘A legszentebb éj’. Ákos worked on the project for nearly two years, performing many of the instrumental tracks himself.
The album will be presented at the Magyar Zene Háza, with formats including CD+DVD and double LP. Following his recovery, Ákos is also scheduled to perform a concert at the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna on December 12.
