Wildfires are currently active in Kos and Rethymno, Greece. In Kos, the fire is concentrated in the Pyli area, where difficult terrain and steep ravines are hindering ground crews. Aerial support consists of three firefighting aircraft and two helicopters.
In Rethymno, specifically in the southern part near Selli and Souda, the fire has no longer an active front, but emergency services remain on high alert due to the risk of flare-ups.
