KOSHA hosts Cambodian officials for construction safety training

The Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA), in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO), is hosting a training program for Cambodian officials to strengthen construction safety capabilities. From May 14 to 18, a delegation of 16 representatives—including 11 inspectors from the Cambodian Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training and five technical officials from the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction—is participating in the program in South Korea.

The training focuses on South Korea’s industrial safety inspection systems, accident prevention policies, and the Serious Accidents Punishment Act. Participants will engage in practical activities, such as safety experience education at the Incheon Safety Experience Education Center and on-site inspections at the Seoul Station Northern Development site.

This initiative aims to help Cambodia address rising accident risks in its construction sector, complex multi-employer processes, and climate-related hazards like heatwaves. By sharing South Korea’s prevention-oriented safety management techniques and accident investigation methods, the program seeks to support the improvement of Cambodia’s institutional frameworks and safety culture.
