Końskie hospital completes 15 million PLN care unit expansion
The Care and Treatment Unit at the St. Luke Specialist Hospital in Końskie has completed a major expansion and modernization project. The total cost of the undertaking was 15 million PLN, with approximately 12 million PLN funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (KPO).
The renovation significantly increased the facility's capacity for long-term care, raising the number of available beds from 43 to between 61 and 63. Beyond increasing capacity, the project involved a thorough modernization of the infrastructure and the installation of specialized medical equipment, including patient lifting devices for hygiene and a modern rehabilitation room.
Local officials and Bishop Marek Solarczyk attended the opening ceremony on August 31, 2026. The upgrades aim to address the growing regional demand for 24-hour care for chronically ill and dependent patients while improving working conditions for medical staff through more spacious and better-organized wards.
