Kosovo analyst urges compromise to avoid new election amid institutional deadlock

Lulzim Peci, director of the Institute KIPRED, said Kosovo’s current political situation mirrors that of February 2025 and can be overcome only through compromise. He warned that if parties fail to reach an agreement the country will head back to the polls.

Peci noted that political polarization is undermining the functioning of state institutions and emphasized the need for fundamental economic reforms, including fiscal policy changes and preparation for integration into the European single market. He called on all political parties to "learn the word compromise and achieve compromise" ahead of the scheduled vote on 7 June.
