The constitutional session of the Kosovo Assembly has faced repeated interruptions due to political deadlock among major parties. While Albulena Haxhiu was successfully elected Speaker of the Assembly with 62 votes, the process of electing five Vice Presidents remains unresolved.

During the proceedings, Ardian Gola of the Vetëvendosje Movement was elected Vice President with 101 votes. However, the subsequent attempt to elect Vlora Çitaku of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) failed after Vetëvendosje members abstained, leaving her with 44 or 45 votes. This led to the PDK deputies leaving the hall in protest.

The Democratic Party of Kosovo has announced it will no longer participate in Assembly sessions and intends to refer the matter to the Constitutional Court, claiming that constitutional deadlines for the assembly's constitution were missed on August 7.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti has called for political agreement and urged PDK to return to the session, stating that Vetëvendosje is willing to vote for a PDK deputy if names are clarified through inter-party meetings. Meanwhile, opposition figures like Isa Mustafa have criticized the approach of the Vetëvendosje movement, describing it as a 'dictatorship wrapped in numbers' intended to delay the assembly's constitution.
