Kosovo and Turkey strengthen defense ties as five officers graduate

Kosovo’s Acting Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, met with Turkish National Defense Minister Yaşar Güler and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to discuss defense cooperation and military education.

The meeting coincided with the graduation of five Kosovar officers from the Turkish Armed Forces Military Academy. The graduates, including Lieutenants Ramadan Rexha, Gjergj Dreni, Altin Salihaj, Elmë Ramadani, and Admirim Ismajli, completed a five-year program consisting of one year of Turkish language preparation and four years of military studies.

Maqedonci emphasized that investing in highly trained military personnel is essential for the future of the Kosovo Security Force (FSK) and for building a modern, professional force capable of interoperability with partner nations. He noted that such educational programs strengthen the ties and cooperation between the armed forces of Kosovo and Turkey.
