Seasonal flu vaccination campaigns begin in Kosovo and North Macedonia

Seasonal flu vaccination campaigns have officially commenced in Kosovo and North Macedonia. In Kosovo, vaccines have arrived and distribution has begun through the National Institute of Public Health (IKShPK) and various family medicine centers, including the Main Center of Family Medicine in Pristina. Health officials are prioritizing high-risk groups, such as individuals over 65, people with chronic illnesses, pregnant women, and children aged six months to five years.

In North Macedonia, over 55,000 citizens have already registered for free vaccination. Health Minister Sasho Klekovski participated in the immunization process to encourage public participation, noting that more than 60 percent of registrants are seniors. While interest is high among the elderly and those with chronic conditions, medical professionals have noted lower vaccination rates among pregnant women and children, urging parents to utilize the free service to prevent severe respiratory complications.
