Kosovo election commission announces Samoopredeljenje wins 53 seats
The Central Election Commission (CIK) in Pristina released the final results of the June 7 elections for the provisional institutions of self‑government in Kosovo. The Samoopredeljenje movement secured 47.13 % of the vote, translating into 53 seats in the 120‑member assembly. The Democratic Party of Kosovo received 19.44 % and 22 seats, while the Democratic League of Kosovo obtained 16.69 % and 18 seats. The Alliance gathered 6.74 % and seven mandates. The Serbian List, the leading Serbian party in the province, won 5.40 % of the vote and nine of the ten seats guaranteed for the Serbian community. The Freedom, Justice and Survival party, led by Nenad Rašić, achieved 0.67 % and one guaranteed Serbian seat. The remaining ten seats are reserved for representatives of non‑Serbian minority communities. Candidates have until the deadline, 48 hours from the announcement, to file appeals with the commission.
