Kosovo Election Commission schedules final results by June 26 and launches vote count in 38 municipalities

Valmir Elezi, spokesperson for Kosovo's Central Election Commission (KQZ), said the commission plans to announce the final election results by 26 June if no appeals are filed, with certification of the results slated for 6 July. He reported that 30 diplomatic missions overseas recorded 22,414 votes from 27,724 registered voters, an 80.85 % turnout, while postal voting registered 104,480 voters. By 16:00 on 8 June, ballot packages had been collected from post boxes in cities across Europe, totaling 84,832 envelopes.

The KQZ has begun the counting of votes for deputy candidates at 38 municipal counting centres. After voting concluded at 2,498 regular polling stations, materials from 949 stations were transferred to these centres. More than 2,200 commission members, organized into 580 teams working two shifts, are conducting the count. Counting started on Monday in 15 municipalities and expanded to 23 more in the afternoon. The commission also highlighted special voting arrangements, including mobile teams for persons with special needs and assisted voting.

The process will include scanning voter lists to prevent double voting and verifying postal ballots before they are tallied. Results will be published progressively on the KQZ results platform.
