LDK backs Lumir Abdixhiku after central committee meeting on election results

The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) held a central committee meeting to analyse the June 7 parliamentary election results, in which the party secured 16.69 % of the vote and 18 seats. The party’s leadership affirmed full support for its president, Lumir Ab dixhiku, in guiding political and organisational processes and in discussions with other parliamentary parties on forming new state institutions.

The committee noted that, while the result shows a modest increase for the LDK, it does not meet the party’s political expectations. It called for a joint responsibility across all party levels to address shortcomings, strengthen unity and convert the gain into broader public trust. Regular internal elections will be held as scheduled, and any issues must be dealt with through party institutions and the free will of members.

Party figures such as Deputy Chair Lutfi Haziri temporarily left the meeting, while MP Jehona Lushaku emphasised that internal debate is a normal democratic practice. The leadership also discussed coalition‑building demands and reaffirmed the party’s statutory mechanisms.
